The Lord Almighty says this to the priests : ‘A son respects his father. A servant respects his master. If I am really your father and your master, why do you not respect me? You are my priests , but you insult my name. But then you ask, “What have we done to insult your name?”

You thought that you would get a lot of food from the crops that grow in your fields. But only a few plants grew. When you brought your food home, it quickly disappeared . I blew it away! Why do you think all this happened? It happened because my temple is still a heap of stones. At the same time, you all work hard to build your own houses. I, the Almighty Lord am telling you this! That is why there has been no rain on your fields. That is why your plants do not grow well.
Haggai 1:9-10
你們盼望多得，所得的卻少；你們收到家中，我就吹去。這是為甚麼呢？因為我的殿荒涼，你們各人卻顧 自己的房屋。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。 所以為你們的緣故，天就不降甘露，地也不出土產。
