So, you also should think about yourselves in the same way. Sin has no power over you, as if you were dead. In your new life, you live to serve God, because you belong to Christ Jesus.

God gave his Law to Moses to show more clearly that people were doing wrong things. But when people did more and more wrong things, God continued to be kind in more and more ways.
Romans 5:20

But God has shown us how much he loves us. Even when we still did not obey God, Christ died on our behalf.

So, God gives us his promise as a gift, because he is very kind. We receive it when we trust him. If we believe in God like Abraham did, then God accepts us. That is God’s promise to all of Abraham’s family. If we believe in God, we can call Abraham our ancestor . We can all receive what God has promised. It is not only for those who have Moses’ Law to obey.
Romans 4:16

所以 人得為後嗣 是本乎信，因此就屬乎恩，叫應許定然歸給一切後裔；不但歸給那屬乎律法的，也歸給那效法 亞伯拉罕 之信的。

When a person works to get money, it is right for him to receive his money. That money is not a gift. It is what that person ought to receive as a result of his work. But nobody can do any work that will make himself right with God. Instead, if he believes in God, then God will accept him. Because of that person’s faith , God says that person is right with himself. That is God’s gift even to those who have not obeyed him.
Romans 4:4‭-‬5

做工的得工價，不算恩典，乃是該得的； 惟有不做工的，只信稱罪人為義的上帝，他的信就算為義。

God accepts people as right with himself because Jesus Christ did what God wanted. God accepts every person who believes in Christ. It is the same way for everyone, whether they are Jews or Gentiles .
Romans 3:22

就是上帝的義，因信耶穌基督加給一切相信的人，並沒有分別。

No, certainly it does not mean that! God will always do what he says. He will always say what is true, even if everyone in the world should tell lies . This is what is written in the Bible: ‘Your message is true. It shows that you are right. People may say that you are wrong. But it will always be clear that you are right.’
Romans 3:4

斷乎不能！不如說，上帝是真實的，人都是虛謊的。如 經上 所記： 你責備人的時候，顯為公義； 被人議論的時候，可以得勝。
羅馬書 3:4

No! A true Jew is someone who belongs to God in his spirit . He belongs to God because God’s Spirit has changed his life. It is like God has circumcised him in his spirit , not in his body. The rules in God’s Law cannot do that work in a person. Other people may not praise a person like that, but God will praise him.
Romans 2:29

惟有裏面作的，才是 真 猶太 人； 真 割禮也是心裏的，在乎靈，不在乎儀文。這人的稱讚不是從人來的，乃是從上帝來的。
羅馬書 2:29

Remember that God is very kind and patient with us. He waits a long time before he punishes us. Do you not think that that is important? You should understand that God is giving you a chance to change. He waits patiently, so that you may turn away from wrong things.
Romans 2:4

還是你藐視他豐富的恩慈、寬容、忍耐，不曉得他的恩慈是領你悔改呢？
羅馬書 2:4

Ever since God made the world, he has been showing people clearly about himself. We cannot see God. But the things that he has made show us clearly what he is like. We can understand his great power that continues for ever. We can know that he is the true God. So there is no reason for anyone to say, ‘We could not know about God.’
Romans 1:20

自從造天地以來，　神的永能和神性是明明可知的，雖然眼不能見，但藉着所造之物就可以了解看見，叫人無可推諉。
