God saw what the people in Nineveh did. He saw that they did good things now. They no longer did wrong things. So he was kind to them. He did not destroy their city as he had said. Jonah 3:10

While I was dying, I remembered you, Lord. I prayed. And you heard me in the place where I can worship you. Jonah 2:7

Jonah replied, ‘Lift me up and throw me into the sea. The sea will not move up and down any longer. It will become flat again. I have done something wrong. So you are in a storm.’ But the men did not throw Jonah into the sea. They rowed and they tried to return to the land. But they could not do that. Still the water in the sea moved up and down. It was even higher than before. Then the men spoke in a loud voice to the Lord. They said, ‘This man has done nothing wrong. But we will have to kill this man. But Lord, please do not let us die because of this. Do not say that we have done something wrong. Lord, you have sent this storm for your own reasons.’ Then the sailors took Jonah and they threw him over the side of the ship. The water in the sea did not continue to move up and down. It became flat. When they saw this, the men were afraid of the Lord. They respected him and they offered a sacrifice to him. And they promised God that they would do certain things. This was a serious promise. Jonah 1:12‭-‬16

他對他們說：「你們將我擡起來，拋在海中，海就平靜了；我知道你們遭這大風是因我的緣故。」 然而那些人竭力盪槳，要把船攏岸，卻是不能，因為海浪越發向他們翻騰。 他們便求告耶和華說：「耶和華啊，我們懇求你，不要因這人的性命使我們死亡，不要使流無辜血的罪歸與我們；因為你－耶和華是隨自己的意旨行事。」 他們遂將約拿擡起，拋在海中，海的狂浪就平息了。 那些人便大大敬畏耶和華，向耶和華獻祭，並且許願。
約拿書 1:12‭-‬16

This is why I am against you, says the Lord Almighty. I will make you like a woman whose skirt is up over her face. I will show the countries that you are like that woman. You will be like a woman who is not wearing any clothes. I will throw dirt at you. I will do with you like you were nothing. And I will make everyone ashamed of you. When people see you, they will run away. And they will say, ‘They have destroyed Nineveh. Nobody will be sad.’ There will be nobody to help you.
Nahum 3:5‭-‬7

The Lord Almighty says, ‘I am against you. I will burn your chariots and the sword will kill your young lions. I will take away all the animals that you attack. Nobody will hear the voices of your messengers.’ Nahum 2:13

The Lord loves those who believe him. When they are in trouble, they can put their hope in God. Nahum 1:7

Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, as he deserves. Only he does such wonderful things. Praise his great name for ever! May his glory fill the whole earth! Amen! May that all happen! Psalms 72:18‭-‬19

Lord, I trust you to help me. I have trusted in you, Lord, since I was young. Since I was born, you have been there to help me. You have taken care of me since my mother gave birth to me. So I will always praise you! Psalms 71:5‭-‬6

主－耶和華啊，你是我所盼望的； 從我年幼，你是我所倚靠的。 我從出母胎被你扶持； 使我出母腹的是你。 我必常常讚美你！ 詩篇 71:5‭-‬6

God, may those who want to know you be very happy. Everyone who loves you because you have saved them should never stop saying, ‘Praise God.’ Psalms 70:4

願一切尋求你的，因你高興歡喜； 願那些喜愛你救恩的，常說：當尊上帝為大！ 詩篇 70:4

When humble people see it, they will be very happy. People who want to serve God will become strong in their lives. For the Lord listens to the prayers of poor people. He does not forget to help his people when they are prisoners.
Psalms 69:32‭-‬33
