I prayed, ‘Lord, king of all people, you have made the earth and the sky by your great power. Your hands have made them. Nothing is too difficult for you to do. You teach thousands of people to understand that you love them. But you punish children for the sins that their ancestors did in past times. Great and powerful Lord, your name is the Lord Almighty. You are so wise that you do very great things. You see everything that men do. You give good things to those who give pleasure to you. Those who do good things give pleasure to you. And you punish everyone who has done wrong things. Jeremiah 32:17‭-‬19

I am with you and I will save you”, says the Lord. “I may destroy completely all the countries that I send you to. But I will not destroy you completely. I will punish you in a fair way. I certainly will punish you.” Jeremiah 30:11

That is because they have done very bad things in Israel. They have had sex with other men’s wives. They have used my name to speak words that are not true. I did not tell them to say those words. I know this and I have seen it,’ says the Lord. Jeremiah 29:23

I want to do many good things for you,’ the Lord says. ‘I want you to become rich and strong, and I do not want to hurt you. I want you to believe that you will have a good future life. Then you will ask for my help. And you will come and you will pray to me. And I will listen to you. You will look for me. And you will find me when you really want to find me.’ Jeremiah 29:11‭-‬13

耶和華說：我知道我向你們所懷的意念是賜平安的意念，不是降災禍的意念，要叫你們末後有指望。 你們要呼求我，禱告我，我就應允你們。 你們尋求我，若專心尋求我，就必尋見。

Many prophets have prophesied for many years before us. They said that war and illness would happen. They said that people would not have any food. Those things would happen in many countries and kingdoms, they said. Other prophets say that peace will happen. That peace may happen. Only then can we know that their words are true. And we will know that the Lord has sent them.’ Jeremiah 28:8‭-‬9

從古以來，在你我以前的先知，向多國和大邦說預言，論到爭戰、災禍、瘟疫的事。 先知預言的平安，到話語成就的時候，人便知道他真是耶和華所差來的。」 耶利米書 28:8‭-‬9

So do not listen to your prophets, or to your people. They think that they know about future things. But they do not know. Do not listen to those who ask spirits for help. Do not listen to those who try to understand dreams. They might tell you that you will not become servants of the king of Babylon. They would not be telling you what is true. That would make it sure that an enemy would take you a long way from your own country. I would send you away and you would die there. Jeremiah 27:9‭-‬10

至於你們，不可聽從你們的先知和占卜的、圓夢的、觀兆的，以及行邪術的；他們告訴你們說：『你們不致服事巴比倫王。』 他們向你們說假預言，要叫你們遷移，遠離本地，以致我將你們趕出去，使你們滅亡。 耶利米書 27:9‭-‬10
