God has punished my people. He punished us more than he punished Sodom’s people. God destroyed that city in a moment, and nobody was there to help them. Lamentations 4:6

Instead, we should think a lot about what we do, and we should turn back to the Lord again. We should lift up our hands and pray to God in heaven. We should be honest with God and say to him, ‘We have done wrong things, and we have turned against you. You have not forgiven us.
Lamentations 3:40-42

The Lord’s love never comes to an end. He never stops being kind to us. Every day, we can trust him to be kind again. We know that he will do what he has promised to do. ‘He is my Lord,’ I say to myself. ‘He is the reason why I can hope for good things.’ Lamentations 3:22-24

The Lord was very angry. He wanted Zion’s people to be ashamed. Zion was the most beautiful city in Israel. But he has put it down to the ground from its high place. Zion was like a place where he had rested his feet. Now that he is angry, he has forgotten about that.
Lamentations 2:1
主何竟發怒,使黑雲遮蔽錫安城! 他將以色列的華美從天扔在地上; 在他發怒的日子並不記念自己的腳凳。 耶利米哀歌 2:1
Jerusalem’s people have sinned very much. That is why this city is not clean any longer. People thought that this city was the best. Now they think that it is not important. They see it as it is. Jerusalem’s people make sad noises and they want to hide themselves away. Lamentations 1:8
耶路撒冷大大犯罪, 所以成為不潔之物; 素來尊敬她的,見她赤露就都藐視她; 她自己也歎息退後。 耶利米哀歌 1:8
Zedekiah did not obey the Lord. He did all the bad things that Jehoiakim had done. The Lord was angry, so he caused these things to happen to Jerusalem and Judah. They became so bad that the Lord sent his people away. He did not want them to be near to him. The king of Babylon had told Zedekiah what he must do. But Zedekiah did not do it. Jeremiah 52:2-3
西底家行耶和華眼中看為惡的事,是照約雅敬一切所行的。 因此耶和華的怒氣在耶路撒冷和猶大發作,以致將人民從自己的面前趕出。 耶利米書 52:2-3
The great and powerful Lord says, ‘They will knock down the thick walls of Babylon. They will burn its high gates. The nations run about and are tired. But they cannot do anything. All the things that the nations do only make the fire worse.’ Jeremiah 51:58
