They fought all the way to Beth Aven and beyond it. That day the Lord saved Israel’s people. 1 Samuel 14:23

Jonathan spoke to the young man who carried his armour. ‘Now we will go to the place where those Philistines are. Nobody has circumcised them. Perhaps the Lord will help us. The Lord can help us to win the fight. He can do that whether there are many of us or only a few of us.’ 1 Samuel 14:6

Samuel said, ‘You have been a fool. You have not obeyed the word of the Lord your God. You should have obeyed the Lord. Then the Lord would have let you and your family rule over the Israelites for all time. 1 Samuel 13:13

撒母耳對掃羅說：「你做了糊塗事了，沒有遵守耶和華－你上帝所吩咐你的命令。若遵守，耶和華必在以色列中堅立你的王位，直到永遠。 撒母耳記上 13:13

The Lord does not change his mind. He decided to make you his own people. He will not leave you. 1 Samuel 12:22

耶和華既喜悅選你們作他的子民，就必因他的大名不撇棄你們。 撒母耳記上 12:22

So everyone went to Gilgal. They went to the place for worship. They all agreed that Saul should be their king. They gave friendship offerings to the Lord. Saul and all the Israelites had a very good party. 1 Samuel 11:15

眾百姓就到了吉甲那裏，在耶和華面前立掃羅為王，又在耶和華面前獻平安祭。掃羅和以色列眾人大大歡喜。 撒母耳記上 11:15

Samuel said to all the people, ‘Here is the man that the Lord has chosen. There is nobody like him among all the people.’ Then the people shouted, ‘We ask God that the king will live for a long time.’ 1 Samuel 10:24

撒母耳對眾民說：「你們看耶和華所揀選的人，眾民中有可比他的嗎？」眾民就大聲歡呼說：「願王萬歲！」 撒母耳記上 10:24

Saul left Samuel and went on his journey. When Saul was leaving, God made him a new person inside. And everything happened in the way that Samuel had spoken. They arrived at Gibeah and a group of prophets met them. The Spirit of God came strongly on Saul. He prophesied with the prophets. 1 Samuel 10:9‭-‬10

掃羅轉身離別撒母耳，上帝就賜他一個新心。當日這一切兆頭都應驗了。 掃羅到了那山，有一班先知遇見他，上帝的靈大大感動他，他就在先知中受感說話。

God had spoken to Samuel the day before this. God said, ‘Tomorrow I will send a man to you. He comes from the land of Benjamin. He will arrive at about this time of day. Anoint him as the leader over my people, Israel. He will save my people from the Philistines. I have seen the way that they have hurt my people. I heard the people when they shouted for help.’ 1 Samuel 9:15‭-‬16

掃羅未到的前一日，耶和華已經指示撒母耳說： 「明日這時候，我必使一個人從便雅憫地到你這裏來，你要膏他作我民以色列的君。他必救我民脫離非利士人的手；因我民的哀聲上達於我，我就眷顧他們。」 撒母耳記上 9:15‭-‬16

Kish had a son whose name was Saul. He was a very handsome young man. No other Israelite was more handsome than Saul. When Saul stood with other people, you could see his head and shoulders above everyone else’s head. 1 Samuel 9:2

他有一個兒子，名叫掃羅，又健壯、又俊美，在以色列人中沒有一個能比他的；身體比眾民高過一頭。 撒母耳記上 9:2

The Lord said to Samuel, ‘Listen to everything that the people say to you. They have not refused to have you as their leader. Instead, they have refused to have me as their king. 1 Samuel 8:7
