But David said to Saul, ‘I, my family and my father’s tribe are not very important in Israel. I cannot marry the king’s daughter.’ 1 Samuel 18:18

The Lord does not need swords or spears to save his people. Everyone here will soon know that! The Lord is the one who fights for us. He will make us strong to win against you.’ 1 Samuel 17:47

David said to Goliath, ‘You have come to fight against me with a sword, a spear and a knife. But I come to fight against you with the authority of the Lord Almighty. He is the God who leads Israel’s army, and you have insulted him! 1 Samuel 17:45

The Lord is the glory of Israel. He does not say things that are not true. He does not change his mind. He is not like a man who decides to change.’ 1 Samuel 15:29

But Samuel replied, ‘Is the Lord most happy when people give offerings and sacrifices to him? Or is he most happy when people obey him? The Lord is most happy when people obey him. That is better than when they sacrifice the best sheep to him. 1 Samuel 15:22

撒母耳說： 耶和華喜悅燔祭和平安祭， 豈如喜悅人聽從他的話呢？ 聽命勝於獻祭； 順從勝於公羊的脂油。 撒母耳記上 15:22

But the people said to Saul, ‘Jonathan won a great fight for (on behalf of) Israel. He will not have to die. We promise by the living Lord that he will not lose even one hair on his head. God helped Jonathan today in this fight.’ So, the people saved Jonathan and he did not have to die. 1 Samuel 14:45
