I said to the leaders, the officers and all the people, ‘It is hard work and the wall is very long. So we are not working near to each other. When you hear the sound of the trumpet, come to join us here. Our God will fight on our behalf.’ Nehemiah 4:19-20

The leader of the priests, Eliashib, and the other priests built the Sheep Gate. They fixed the doors in it again. They built the wall as far as the Tower of the Hundred and the Tower of Hananel. They dedicated it all to God. The men from Jericho built the next part of the city wall. Imri’s son, Zaccur, built the next part of the wall. Nehemiah 3:1-2

The king asked me, ‘What do you want me to do for you?’ So I prayed to our God who rules from heaven. Nehemiah 2:4

Remember what you told your servant, Moses. You told him, “If the Israelites turn away from me, I will make them live among foreign people in many different places. But if they return to me and they obey my commands, I will be kind to them. I will bring them back together again from all the different places where they are living. Even if they live far away, I will find them. I will bring them to the place that I have chosen to give honour to my name.” Nehemiah 1:8-9
求你記念所吩咐你僕人摩西的話，說：『你們若犯罪，我就把你們分散在萬民中； 但你們若歸向我，謹守遵行我的誡命，你們被趕散的人雖在天涯，我也必從那裏將他們招聚回來，帶到我所選擇立為我名的居所。』
尼希米記 1:8-9
Then Shecaniah spoke to Ezra. Shecaniah was Jehiel’s son, a descendant of Elam. Shecaniah said, ‘We have not been faithful to our God. We have married foreign women from the nations who live near us. But we believe that Israel may still hope for God’s mercy. We will make an agreement with our God. We will agree to send away these foreign women and their children. As our leader, you have told us we must do this. The people who respect our God’s commands say the same thing. Now we want to do what God’s law says is right. Get up now! You must do something about this. We will help you, so you must be brave!’ Ezra 10:2-4
屬以攔的子孫、耶歇的兒子示迦尼對以斯拉說：「我們在此地娶了外邦女子為妻，干犯了我們的上帝，然而以色列人還有指望。 現在當與我們的上帝立約，休這一切的妻，離絕她們所生的，照着我主和那因上帝命令戰兢之人所議定的，按律法而行。 你起來，這是你當辦的事，我們必幫助你，你當奮勉而行。」 以斯拉記 10:2-4
All these bad things have happened to us because we are guilty of many wicked things. But, our God, you still have not punished us as much as we deserve. You have let some of us remain alive. But now we still refuse to obey your commands! Some of us have married foreign people who do disgusting things. If we continue to do that, you may destroy us all. None of us will remain alive! Ezra 9:13-14
上帝啊，我們因自己的惡行和大罪，遭遇了這一切的事，並且你刑罰我們輕於我們罪所當得的，又給我們留下這些人。 我們豈可再違背你的命令，與這行可憎之事的民結親呢？若這樣行，你豈不向我們發怒，將我們滅絕，以致沒有一個剩下逃脫的人嗎？ 以斯拉記 9:13-14
We began our journey from the Ahava river on the 12th day of the first month. We left there to go to Jerusalem. Our God kept us safe on the journey. No enemies attacked us and nobody robbed us on the way. Ezra 8:31
正月十二日，我們從亞哈瓦河邊起行，要往耶路撒冷去。我們上帝的手保佑我們，救我們脫離仇敵和路上埋伏之人的手。 以斯拉記 8:31
God was kind to us and he helped us. So they brought Sherebiah to us. He was a clever worker. He was a descendant of Israel’s son Levi. He belonged to the clan of Levi’s son, Mahli. Sherebiah came with his sons and brothers. Together they were 18 men. Hashabiah and Jeshaiah also came. They belonged to the clan of Levi’s son, Merari. 20 men from their family came with them. 220 temple servants also came. King David had first chosen this group to help the Levites with their work. We made a list of all their names. Ezra 8:18-20

This man Ezra arrived from Babylon. He was a teacher who knew the law of Moses very well. The Lord, Israel’s God, had given that law to Moses. Ezra served the Lord as his God. The Lord was kind and he helped Ezra, so that the king of Persia gave him everything that he asked for. Ezra 7:6
這以斯拉從巴比倫上來，他是敏捷的文士，通達耶和華－以色列上帝所賜摩西的律法書。王允准他一切所求的，是因耶和華－他上帝的手幫助他。 以斯拉記 7:6
