So Solomon stopped Abiathar from being a priest of the Lord. The things that the Lord said at Shiloh about Eli’s family had now happened. ……The Lord will punish him because of the blood that he poured out. He attacked two men and he killed them with his sword. My father David did not know about this. Both men were better and more honest than Joab was. They were Abner, the son of Ner. He was the leader of Israel’s army. And also Amasa, the son of Jether. He was the leader of Judah’s army. ……But you have not kept your promise to the Lord. You did not do what I ordered you to do.’ The king also said to Shimei, ‘You know in your mind all the bad things that you did to my father David. Now the Lord will punish you because of the wrong things that you did. 1 Kings 2:27, 32‭, ‬43‭-‬44

And he said, ‘You know that I should be king. All Israel thought that I should be their king. But things changed, and now my brother is the king. The Lord has made him king. 1 Kings 2:15

遵守耶和華－你上帝所吩咐的，照着摩西律法上所寫的行主的道，謹守他的律例、誡命、典章、法度。這樣，你無論做甚麼事，不拘往何處去，盡都亨通。 列王紀上 2:3

Do what the Lord your God asks you to do. Live in his ways. Continue to obey his rules and his laws. Do what he has decided. Do everything that he wants you to do. Moses wrote it all in his law books. If you do that, you will do well everywhere and in everything. 1 Kings 2:3

with these words. “The Lord is the great God of Israel. He has let my eyes see who will be king after me. He is on my throne today.” ’ 1 Kings 1:48

Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, answered the king, ‘I agree! And I pray that the Lord will say that too. He is the God of my master the king. The Lord was with my master the king. We pray that he will also be with Solomon. We pray that he will make the throne of Solomon even greater than the throne of my master King David!’ 1 Kings 1:36‭-‬37

Jesus said to them, ‘You should not be so afraid. You seem to have trouble in your minds about what you are seeing. Now look at my hands and my feet. It is really me! Touch me. Then you will know that I am not a spirit. A spirit does not have a body with skin and bones. You can see that I have a real body.’ ……They gave him a piece of fish that they had cooked. While they were watching, he took it and he ate it. ……Then he helped them to understand God’s message in the Bible. He told them, ‘This is what it says there: The Messiah had to die. Then, after three days, he had to rise up and become alive again. People in every country of the world must hear God’s message. They must stop doing wrong things and change how they live. When they do this, God will forgive them. He will forgive all the bad things that they have done. People need to tell this message about the Messiah in Jerusalem first, then tell people in other countries. Luke 24:38‭-‬39‭, ‬42‭-‬43‭, ‬45‭-‬47

So the women became very afraid and they went down low with their faces on the ground. The men said to the women, ‘This is a place to bury dead people. You should not be looking here for someone who is alive. Jesus is not here. He has become alive again! Remember what he said to you, while he was still with you in Galilee. He said, “It is necessary that someone should give the Son of Man into the power of bad men. They will kill him on a cross. But 3 days later he will become alive again.” ’ Luke 24:5‭-‬7

Jesus asked them, ‘What are you talking about while you walk along the road?’ They stood still and they seemed sad. One of them, called Cleopas, answered him, ‘Many things have happened in Jerusalem in the last few days. Are you the only visitor here that does not know about it?’ ……Jesus then said to them, ‘How silly you are! You are very slow to believe everything that God’s prophets said long ago. You should have known that the Messiah had to die. Only then would he return to heaven and show how great and powerful he is.’ Jesus then began to explain to them what Moses and all God’s prophets had taught. He showed them what they wrote in the Bible about himself. Luke 24:17‭-‬18‭, ‬25‭-‬27

It was now about midday. The whole country became dark for three hours. The sun did not give any light. Then the curtain inside God’s Great House tore into two parts. Then Jesus shouted loudly, ‘Father, I give my spirit to you.’ After he shouted this, he died. There was a captain of the soldiers there. When he saw what had happened, he praised God. He said. ‘I am sure that this man had not done anything wrong.’ Luke 23:44‭-‬47
